Matt Odeneal broke into dirt
track racing in March of 2003. The early part of '03 was a learning experience for the then 15 year-old Odeneal,
running weekly in the Rookie Pony Division at Duck River Speedway. Little did anyone know,
at the time, a success story was developing....along with a fan base.
Odeneal's
Rookie Pony days were numbered. In a two-day span, on Memorial Day Weekend in 2003, he won a race that had been rescheduled
from a week before the regularly scheduled race on Saturday night. Then, on Sunday night, he won his third race of the weekend.
* He is the only driver in the division's four year existence to win three races in a row,
much less, three in two days.
